Rosary service for Tomas "Tommy" Riojas, 77, of Slaton will be 7 p.m., Sunday, April 30, 2006, in Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Resurrection Mass will be 10 a.m., Monday, May 1, 2006 in the same church with Rev. Lawrence Hemp officiating. Burial will be in Englewood Cemetery and under the direction of Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton.
Mr. Riojas died, Thursday, April 27, 2006.
He was born Dec. 21, 1928 in Rosebud, TX. Tommy married Clara Salas on Feb. 16, 1952 in Waco. She preceded him in death on April 1, 1996. They moved to Slaton in 1958. A son, Jesse, preceded him in death on June 17, 2001.
He had worked for Pyco in Lubbock retiring in 1995.
Tommy's survivors includes sons Alfredo Riojas, Pete Riojas and Tino Riojas all of Slaton and daughters, Mary Lou Elms of Lubbock and Bibiana Soto of Plainview; brothers, Eleno of Bakersfield, CA and Augustine of Waco; a sister, Juanita Soliz of Plainview; 14 grandchildren; and 20 great grandchildren.
