Memorial services for Mary Elizabeth Cozart of Lamesa will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at First Baptist Church in Lamesa with Dennis Adams officiating. Private burial will be held at Dawson County Cemetery under the direction of Branon Funeral Home. Mary Elizabeth Cozart of Lamesa went to meet her Savior on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at the age of 91. The family wishes to thank the caregivers who truly blessed our mother, grandmother and friend these last three years with their care and loving attention: Melissa Dominguez, Stella Garcia, Cynthia Mendoza, Diana Torres, Veronica Velasquez, Silvia Lemon, Aleshia Lucero and Amanda Moreno. Mary was born on November 04, 1925 in Pampa, Texas to Richard Early and Melissa (Bradford) Stone. She married William Preston "Boots" Cozart Jr. on April 27, 1946 in Seagraves, Texas. She worked at Klondike school as a cafeteria manager. She then worked for 25 years as a receptionist at Medical Arts Hospital and retired in 2010 at the age of 84. She was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church for over 60 years. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1968; daughter, Sherry Ann Peavey in 2000; parents; four sisters; and six brothers. Mary is survived by her children, Billy Wayne Cozart and wife, Jo Ann of Midland, Nancy Jan Winfrey and husband, Randy of Sundown, Larry Joe Cozart and wife, Marilyn of Lamesa and Patricia Lynn Stephens and husband, Val of Lamesa; brother, Harold Stone and wife, Carolyn of Seminole; grandchildren, Will and Shayla Cozart, Nickki and Tim Reeves, Jay and Carrie Winfrey, Coby and Erin Peavey, Preston and Stacy Cozart, Jess and Nicole Stephens, Darci & Duane Youngberg, Erin, & Chris Stolte, Bree and Matthew Josefy, Slade and Laura Cozart, Jo Beth Cozart, Kate and Ryan Brooke, Matt Stephens, Audra Cozart, Sara and Rhett Overman, and Meredith Cozart; and 21 great-grandchildren.
