Obituary for Lydia P. Cruz published by Gonzales Funeral Home, March 27, 2015.

Chapel funeral services for Lydia P. Cruz, age 71, of Plainview, Texas were held at 11:00a.m. on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at Gonzales Funeral Home Chapel. Interment followed to Dawson County Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were under the care and direction of Gonales Funeral Home of Lamesa, Texas.

Lydia died on Thursday, March 26, 2015 in Brownfield, Texas. She was born on January 30, 1944 in Edingburg, Texas. Lydia married Guadalupe E. Cruz on October 19, 1944 in Friona, Texas.

Lydia was a CNA at various hospitals and nursing homes during her career. She was a very active member of Primera Iglesia Pentecostes church of Plainview, Texas until her illness started setting in.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leoncio and Margarita Perez; sisters, Margies P. Flores and Josie P. Gomez; her nephews, Jimmy Flores, Jr. and Roy Barron.

Lydia is survived by her family, her husband, Guadalupe E. Cruz of Lamesa, Texas; her daughter and her family, Christy Montemayor and son-in-law, Ronnie Martinez; grandsons, Damien Montemayor, Adam Montemayor, Jr., Joseph Montemayor, all of Lamesa, Texas; her sisters, Olivia Jones and brother-in-law, Glendale Jones of Friona, Texas, Hilda Bocanegra and brother-in-law, Daniel Bocanegra of DeLeon, Texas, Mary Perez of Dallas, Texas; three grandchildren.
