The Rev. Albert Demerson, 82, of Amarillo died Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2007.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in St. John the Baptist Church in Lamesa. Local arrangements are by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors, 1505 Martin Road.
The Rev. Demerson was born April 15, 1924, in Cameron to Sullivan and Molly Demerson. He served in the Army during WWII.
He was preceded in death by two sons, PFC Joe Eddie Demerson and PFC Kenneth Demerson; and his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Verneather; five daughters, Shirley Coutee of Arlington and Alice Linster, Jacqueline Riproe and husband George, all of Midland, Betty Bennett of Houston and Glenda Watts of Yorktown, Va.; two sons, Albert Demerson Jr. and wife Shirley of Midland and Alvin Watson of Amarillo; a sister, Betty Lee Henry of Amarillo; 29 grandchildren; and 40 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday in the church.
