Funeral services for Ray Douglas, 81, of Lamesa will be held Thursday, February 25, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Church of Christ in Lamesa. Interment will follow in Lamesa Memorial Park under the direction of Branon Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Branon Funeral Home. He passed away Monday, February 22, 2016, in Lamesa at his home surrounded by family.

Ray was born October 30, 1934 to Dennis and Pearl Marie (Bussel) Douglas in Gainesville, Texas. He married Alma Henderson February 20, 1959 in Lamesa. They were married 57 years. Shortly after he was married, he served in the United States Army. Ray and Ms. Alma founded Automated Controls in January of 1964. He was honored to live his passion by serving the cotton industry of which he achieved legendary status.

Raymond is survived by son, Carl Ray Douglas and wife, Cathy of Lamesa; daughters, LaDonna Van Horn and husband, Del of Bixby, OK, and LaWanda Sanders and husband, Martin of Lamesa; brother Emial Douglas of Lamesa; grandchildren, Rayce and Quade Douglas, and Steelie and Rexie Sanders; along with numerous nieces and nephews; and many dear friends. He is preceded in death by his wife, Alma Douglas; his parents; siblings, Ruby Lacky, "Bud" Dennis Douglas, Robert Douglas and Herman Douglas. Funeral services for Alma Ruth Douglas, 77, of Lamesa will be held Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. at Church of Christ in Lamesa. Interment will follow in Lamesa Memorial Park under the direction of Branon Funeral Home. She passed away Saturday, November 22, 2014 in Lamesa at her home.

Alma was born October 14, 1937 in Haskell County to Harry and Clairressa (Best) Henderson. She was a bookkeeper for Mr. Webb's accounting office. She married Raymond Lewis Douglas February 20, 1959 in Lamesa. They were married 55 years. Ray and Ms. Alma founded Automated Controls in January of 1964 where she was a bookkeeper and boss lady. She considered her children and her 4 grandchildren her greatest accomplishments.

Alma is survived by her husband, Raymond Douglas of Lamesa; son, Carl Ray Douglas and wife, Cathy of Lamesa; daughters, LaDonna VanHorn and husband, Del of Bixby, OK, and LaWanda Sanders and husband, Martin of Lamesa; sisters Polly Cantrell of Lamesa, and Barbara Cockerham and husband, Jimmie of Bovina; brother, Carl Henderson of Lamesa; grandchildren, Rayce and Quade Douglas, and Steelie and Rexie Sanders; along with numerous nieces and nephews; and many dear friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Leo Henderson; and sister, Wanda Kearney. Source: Branon Funeral Home.
