Opal Durham
May 11, 1917 - January 7, 2011
Funeral Services for Opal Durham, 93, of Lamesa will be held on Monday January 10, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Daniel Armstrong officiating. Burial will follow in Lamesa Memorial Park under the direction of Branon Funeral Home.
Opal went home to rest in the arms of her Lord on Friday January 7, 2011 in Austin.
Opal was born on May 11, 1917, in Lamesa to J.M. and Kathryn Peterson. She was a farmer and a wonderful mother to her three children. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Opal, her two sisters, and their friends would ritually get together for coffee and dominoes once a week for almost 40 years. She looked forward to this time and would let nothing get in the way of it.
Opal was a volunteer at Medical Arts Hospital as a Pink Lady for 30 years. She was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church.
