Rosary for Consuelo Ruiz, 83, of Slaton will be at 7:30 p.m. today in Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with the Rev. Lawrence Hemp, pastor, officiating.

Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the same church with the same officiant.

Burial will be in Englewood Cemetery under direction of Englunds Funeral Service.

She died Monday, May 10, 1999, in Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock.

She was born April 24, 1916, in Coleman. She moved to the Southland area in 1948 and to Slaton in 1950. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church and the Guadalupanas. She married Guadalupe Ruiz Sr. on Oct. 21, 1933, in Coleman. He died June 29, 1980. A daughter, Manuela Arguello, died in 1976.

Survivors include seven sons, Benito, Steve and Lupe, all of Slaton, Pedro of Odessa, Jesse of Buffalo, Pablo of Shelton, Neb., and Tony of Lubbock; four daughters, Mary Leyva, Teresa Guerra and Sarah Gonzales, all of Slaton, and Josie Valdez of Fort Worth; four brothers, Gilberto Rendon of Greeley, Colo., and Ruben Rendon, Luis Rendon and Raul Rendon, all of Lubbock; three sisters, Beatrice Solis and Lile Gallegos, both of Lubbock, and Oralia Martinez of Kermit; 42 grandchildren; 62 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
