LAMESA Funeral services for Jack Felts, 94, of Lamesa will be held on Thursday, September 27, 2012, at 10 a.m. at First United Methodist Church with Brother Walter McCall officiating and Brother Daniel Armstrong assisting. Burial will follow in Lamesa Memorial Park under the direction of Branon Funeral Home.
Jack passed away on Monday, September 24, 2012 in Lamesa.
He was born on July 16, 1918, in Colorado City, Texas to Edward and Malitta Felts. He married Jerline Brown on March 15, 1941 in Las Vegas, Nevada. She preceded him in death on August 4, 2000. Jack was a farmer by trade but a pilot at heart. He was a very loving and gracious man who never had an ill word to say about anybody. He loved to fly and he loved traveling with his buddies. Jack was an avid fisherman. He loved to exercise. If you tried calling him between the hours of 1 and 3 you would not get a hold of him as he was doing his daily exercise routine. He exercised daily well in to his 80's. Jack was also very proficient with a computer. He took a course and even received a certificate in computer operations. He would often sit at his computer playing games and sending e mails.
He is survived by his children, Jack Richard Felts and wife Linda of Odessa, Jeanie and husband Jim Norris of Lamesa and Rodney Felts and wife Robin of Lamesa; his grandchildren, Billy Felts, Judith Felts, Debbie and husband Ben Franklin, Cris Norris and wife Sully, Amy and husband Byron Lenord, Justin Felts and 10 great-grandchildren. Jack is preceded in death by his parents; his wife Jerline; a sister, Minnie Culberson and his lifelong friend, Roberta Jean Gray.
