Gary Bentley, 49, of Amarillo died Monday, July 22, 2002.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Central Baptist Church with Gerald Chadwick, Central Baptist Church, officiating. Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. Monday at West Park Cemetery of Hereford by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors, Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street.
Mr. Bentley was a past member of Hereford Lions Club. He taught Bible classes at the Country Club Manor Nursing Home. He was very active in the Central Baptist Church.
He enjoyed helping others and would many times greet the members of the church at their cars before services. He never met a stranger. He loved being with his family and will be greatly missed by all that he touched during his life.
Survivors include three sisters, Evelyn Williams of Ocala, Fla., and Bertha Sears and Barbara Southern, both of Amarillo; and a brother, James Bentley of Oklahoma City.
The family suggests memorials be to Cal Farley's Boys Ranch, 600 W. 11th Ave., Amarillo, TX 79101.
