HEREFORD - Richard Berryman, 63, died Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2007.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. today in St. Anthony's Catholic Church. Interment will be at West Park Cemetery. Arrangements by Rix Funeral Directors.

He was born March 1, 1944, in Wellington to Sam Berryman and Lou Fuson Berryman. Mr. Berryman married Alice Inman and later married Vera Jones in Dimmitt.

Survivors include his wife, Vera Berryman; five sons, Charles Wayne Berryman of Malcolm, Neb., Richard Alan Berryman of Manveo, Mark Wade Berryman and Randall John Berryman, both of Hereford, and Samuel Todd Berryman of Amarillo; a daughter, Teresa Louise Homer of Amarillo; two brothers, Cecil Berryman of Wellington and Gary Russell of Garland; and 11 grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be to St. Anthony's School Endowment Fund, 114 Sunset Drive Hereford, TX 79045.

Mass of Christian Burial for Vera Louise Berryman, 70, a long time Hereford resident will be celebrated Saturday, May 27, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church with Reverend Tony Neusch, pastor, and Reverend John Valdez, pastor of St. Thomas the Apostle as celebrants. Interment will follow in West Park Cemetery, under the direction of Parkside Chapel Funeral Home. A Prayer Vigil will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, May 25, 2017 at Parkside Chapel. Mrs. Berryman passed away Tuesday, May 23, 2017 in Hereford.

Vera Louise Jones was born April 18, 1947 in Anson, Texas to Woodrow Wilson and Vera Mae Rhodes Jones. Her family moved to Dimmitt in 1972 where she graduated High School. She married Richard Berryman on April 19, 1973 in Dimmitt. Mrs. Berryman was a very active member at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church and had served as a secretary for 9 years. She also led a widows group at her home after her husband’s passing. Vera volunteered at the Hereford Senior Citizen Thrift Store, and was part of the V.F.W Auxiliary where she held many offices. She will forever be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a friend to all.

Mourning her loss are five sons, Charles Berryman and wife Laurel of St. Francisville, LA., Alan Berryman of Houston, TX., Mark Berryman and wife Kelly, Samuel Berryman and his wife Misty both of Bushland, TX., Randy Berryman of Elk City, OK.; one daughter, Teresa Walsmith and husband Garry of Amarillo, TX.; one brother, Jimmy Jones of Dennison, TX.; one sister, Betty Stewart of Arizona; and a special friend, Craig Bainum of Hereford; sixteen grandchildren; and seven great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by his parents, husband, Richard; one brother; and one sister.

The family also suggests that memorials in Mrs. Berryman’s name be made to St. Anthony’s School Endowment Fund, P.O. Box 465, Hereford, TX 79045 or VFW Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 984, Hereford, TX 79045.
