Funeral Services for Robert Eugene “Gene” Brownlow, 92, a long-time Hereford resident are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at Wesley United Methodist Church with the Reverend Jim Watkins, former pastor, and Reverend David Adkeisson, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in West Park Cemetery. Services are entrusted to Parkside Chapel Funeral Home. The family will receive guests at Parkside Chapel Funeral Home, Tuesday, September 30, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Gene was born July, 24, 1922 in McAdoo, Texas to Price Eugene and Lois Irene Allen Brownlow. He attended school and graduated from McAdoo High School in 1941. He met and fell in love with Charlene Earp. They married April 2, 1944 in White Deer, Tx. He was a loving son, husband, father and grandfather. He was a hard-working man and always had a smile on his face. He spent a lot of time at Ute Lake with his family and Church Groups. He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church

Left to mourn his passing are his wife of 70 years, Charlene of Hereford, 3 daughters, Barbara Myers and husband Tom of Idaho Springs, Colorado, Vicki Ault and husband Danny of Amarillo, Patsy Howard and husband David of Fort Morgan, Colorado, 1 son, Jimmie Dale Brownlow of Hereford, 1 daughter-in-law, Melinda Brownlow of Friona. 7 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 son Charles Brownlow, 2 brothers, C. L. Brownlow and Bill Brownlow.

The family suggests memorials in Mr. Brownlow’s name be made to a charity of choice.

Funeral Services for Charlene Brownlow, 88, a long-time Hereford resident, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 2, 2018 at the First United Methodist Church, with Reverend Kevin Bushart, pastor, and Reverend Jim Watkins, a retired Methodist Minister, officiating. Interment will follow in West Park Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Parkside Chapel Funeral Home. Mrs. Brownlow passed away, June 28, 2018 in Deaf Smith County. Family will be receiving friends Sunday, July 1, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Parkside Chapel.

Charlene Earp was born October 18, 1929 in White Deer, Texas to Charlie and Grace (Brown) Earp. She had lived the Hereford area for 70 years. She married Robert Eugene Brownlow on April 2, 1944 in White Deer. Mrs. Brownlow had been a very active member of Wesley United Methodist Church where she was a leader and supporter. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, and a devout Christian. She was also an active member for Texas Panhandle Center (formally known as Texas Department of Mental Health and Mental Retardation). She will forever be remembered as an awesome mom, grandmother, great-grandmother and a tremendous mother-in-law. The neighborhood kids even called her “mom”.

Mourning her loss are three daughters, Barbara Myers and husband Tom of Idaho Springs, CO., Vicki Ault and husband Danny of Amarillo, and Patricia Howard and husband David of Ft. Morgan, CO.; one son, Jimmie Dale Brownlow of Hereford; one daughter-in-law, Melinda Brownlow of Friona; seven grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Gene Brownlow; and one son, Charles Brownlow.
