HEREFORD - Anissa Fe Cano, 13, died Monday, July 4, 2005.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in The Connection at the Church of The Nazarene with Gene Vargus, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in West Park Cemetery by Parkside Chapel Funeral Home.
Anissa was born Nov. 18, 1991, in Amarillo, the daughter of Rubin and Faviana Cano. She lived in Hereford most of her life except for a time she attended the Texas School for the Blind and Visually Impaired at Austin.
Even from her premature beginning of 1 pound 5 ounces and 13 years of struggles, she was an inspiration to all. She loved to sing, to swim, and to give kisses, so July 4, 2005 became her Independence Day. She truly was an instrument of praise.
Survivors include her parents; and her grandparents, Velia Valdez and Eloy Cano Sr., all of Hereford.
The family suggests memorials be to The Texas School for the Blind and Visually Impaired, 1100 W. 45th Ave., Austin, TX 78756.
The family will greet friends at a praise and worship visitation at 6:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
