HEREFORD - Betty Carrasco, 77, died Saturday, June 20, 2009, in Amarillo.
Prayer vigils will be at 7 p.m. today and Tuesday in Rix Funeral Directors Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday in La Iglesia de San Jose with the Rev. David Contreras, pastor, as celebrant. Burial will be in West Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Carrasco was born July 29, 1932, in San Marcos to Juan and Ramona Velasques Garcia. She married Gilbert L. Carrasco Jr. on Sept. 22, 1956, in Rowena.
Survivors included a daughter, Sandra Beira of Grand Prairie; three sons, Gilbert Carrasco III and Mike Carrasco, both of Hereford, and Jimmy Carrasco of Dumas; two sisters, Candi Mendoza of San Angelo and Manuela Frausto of Hondo; 12 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.
The family suggests memorials be to American Lung Association, 1301 Pennsylvania Ave. N.W., Suite 800, Washington, DC 20004.
