HEREFORD - Gilbert L. Carrasco Jr., 66, died Saturday, June 21, 2008, in Arlington.
Prayer vigil will be at 8 p.m. today in La Iglesia de San Jose. Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the church with the Rev. David Contreras officiating. Burial will be in West Park Cemetery by Rix Funeral Directors of Hereford.

Mr. Carrasco was born Aug. 6, 1941, in San Angelo, to Gilbert Carrasco Sr. and Benista Lopez Carrasco. On Sept. 22, 1956, he married Beatrice "Betty" Garcia in Rowena.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Sandra Beira of Grand Prairie; three sons, Gilbert Carrasco III and Joe Michael Carrasco, both of Hereford, and Jimmy Carrasco of Dumas; three sisters, Rita Brown of Dallas, Ruth Cajas of San Angelo and Rose Mary Carrasco of Ballinger; two brothers, Noe L. Carrasco and Ronnie Carrasco, both of San Angelo; 12 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

The family suggests memorials be to American Diabetes Association Memorial and Honor Progam, P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312.
