Henry Dobbs Funeral Scheduled

The funeral of James Henry Dobbs, 63, of 723 Country Club Drive, is scheduled at 2:30 p.m. Monday in Frio Baptist Church, where he was a member. The Rev. Graham Jarrett of Houston, the Rev. R.L. Shannon of Amarillo and the Rev. Sam Ogan, Frio pastor, will conduct the service.

Burial will be in West Park Cemetery directed by Gililland-Watson Funeral Home. Members of the Masonic Lodge here of which Mr. Dobbs was a past master, will be honorary pall bearers.

Night dispatcher at Deaf Smith County Sheriff's office for several years, Mr. Dobbs had been a resident of this county since 1938, when he came from his native Tennessee.

He died at his home Friday night. Born [sic] 18, 1909 at Sparta, Tenn., he and Lillie Van Atta were married there Nov. 22, 1931.

His wife survives, with three sons, Larry of Hereford, James of Summerfield and Clara of Dimmitt, and 10 grandchildren.

He also leaves six sisters, Helen Wilbanks and Thelma McLennon of Chattanooga, Tenn., Dorothy Sullivan and Mary Jelinck, who reside in Michigan, Mrs. Jesse Anderson of Dayton, Ohio, and Doris Brown of Walling, Tenn.; and three brothers, Arthel of Walling, Clinton of Manchester, Tenn., and Harlan of Dayton.
