Hector Dominguez, 49, of Canyon died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Trinity Fellowship West Auditorium with the Rev. Larry Miles officiating. Burial will be in Westpark Cemetery in Hereford. Arrangements are by Cox Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive.

Hector was born March 2, 1963, in Dimmitt to Edwardo Sr. and Maria Rosario Dominguez. He graduated from Hereford High School in 1981. Hector married the love of his life, Alicia Solano, on Aug. 7, 1980, in Hereford. He enlisted in the Army in 1985. He proudly served his country until his honorable discharge from the reserves in 1993. Hector graduated from the Department of Public Safety Academy in 1990. He excelled in his career, rising to the level of sergeant. He retired in 2011. He loved his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and was a member of Trinity Fellowship Church.

Hector enjoyed nothing more than time with his family. He played and coached softball and football for many years. He loved to sing karaoke and had a phenomenal singing voice. Despite his five-year battle with cancer when asked how he was doing, his response was always, "I'm blessed."

He was preceded in death by two sons, Rio and Dio Dominguez.

Survivors include his wife, Alicia Dominguez of Canyon; his parents, Maria Rosario Ramirez and Edwardo Dominguez Sr. and wife Felicitas; three daughters, Monica Dominguez of Amarillo and Erica Reyna and husband T.J. and Angelica Ramirez and husband Michael, all of Canyon; two sons, Hector Dominguez Jr. and wife Tina of Canyon and Diego Dominguez of Canyon; 12 siblings, Suzie, Johnny, Ruben, Edward, Helen, Javier, Claudia, Joquin, Lilia, Rudy, Luis and Herbert; and seven grandchildren, Ezekiel, Elijah, Kloey, Thaigo, Kaylei, Kenzei and Trey.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
