Services for Walter S. Easter, 91, of Dimmitt were held Monday at the First Baptist Church in Hereford with Dr. Ronald L. Cook, pastor, officiating. Burial was at West Park Cemetery under the direction of Gililland-Watson Funeral Home.
Mr. Easter died Sunday at South Hills Manor after a lengthy illness.
Born in Itasca April 4, 1892, Mr. Easter moved to Deaf Smith County in 1905 from Itasca. He married Maydolin Green Feb. 8, 1914 at Easter. She preceded him in death June 5, 1976.
He was a maintenance man for Hereford Public Schools and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Hereford.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Inez Witherspoon of Hereford and Mrs. Ruth Hays of Dimmitt; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.
Pallbearers were David Hays, Norman Hays, Tom Jarecki, Ken Reid, Tom Reiter, Carlton Richardson, Scott Hays, Steven Richardson, Matthew Reiter and Doug Hays.
