Betty Ellis, 65, of Amarillo died Sunday, Nov. 5, 2006.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Good News Church in Hereford with the Rev. David Alvarado officiating. Burial will be in West Park Cemetery in Hereford by Angel Funeral Home, 2209 S. Arthur St., in Amarillo.
Mrs. Ellis was born April 29, 1941, in Buckholts. She lived most of her life in Hereford, then moved to Amarillo in 2006. She has overcome a life of obstacles and has touched and taught many in our lives. Her life will be a life so deeply missed in our hearts.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Cruz Ellis Sr.; her parents, Maria and Pete Rogers; a daughter, Annice Cardenas; a son, Elias Ellis; a granddaughter, Pearl Ellis; two grandsons, Joe Jaso Jr. and Steven Ray Robinson; a sister, Lupe Rogers; and a brother, Conrado Rogers.
Survivors include seven daughters, Frances Abalos and husband Buzz of Hereford, Dorothy Garcia and husband Salomon of Olton, Lupe Ellis and Linda Sanders of Lubbock, Betty Torres and husband Pat of Littlefield, Eva Ellis of McKinney, Rita Gonzales and husband Robert of Amarillo and Betty Jaso of Amarillo; four sons, Joe Cruz Ellis Jr. and wife Rosa of Wildorado, Adam Ellis and David Ellis and wife Carmen, all of Amarillo, and Jeremiah Jaso and wife Carmella of Littlefield; a sister, Bicenta Garcia of Groesbeck; two brothers, Emo Rogers of Groesbeck and Lorenzo Rogers of Cameron; 30 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
