Raymond "Jiggs" Estep, 73, longtime Hereford resident died Monday, April 29, 2013 at his residence.

A Celebration of Life service is scheduled for 1:00 pm, Thursday, May 2, 2013 in Hereford Heritage Funeral Home Chapel of Memories. Burial will follow in West Park Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Hereford Heritage Funeral Home, 411 E 6th Street.

Jiggs was born September 27, 1939 in Paris, Arkansas to Roy and Katherine Timmons Estep. He came to Hereford in 1960 from Paris, Arkansas. Jiggs married the love of his life and best friend, Geneva Cates in October 1963 in Hereford. He was a Baptist by faith. Jiggs was a jolly person. He liked sports, especially the Texas Rangers, Houston Astros and Arkansas Razor Back. He also liked fishing, family gatherings and most of all, he LOVED his family.

Jiggs was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Donald Grady Estep, one brother, Donald Roy Estep and one sister, Eve Jo Estep.

Survivors include his wife, Geneva of the home, one son, Charles Estep and wife Libby of Hereford, one daughter, Jennifer Everrett and husband Cory of Douglas, Wyoming, two brothers, "Bub" Estep of Galena Park, TX, Ricky Pennington, five sisters, Barbara Womack, Joann Stinnett, Eva Townley, Jeannie Waller, Kathy Davis, all of Arkansas and 4 grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society, 3915 Bell St Amarillo, TX 79109, (806) 353-4306 or a charity for the prevention of smoking.
