Lengthy Illness Of R.F. Ferris [sic] Ends In Death
Anyone who has devoted himself to the service of his fellows to the extent that he has come to be recognized as an institution may be said to have filled his niche in the world very creditably. Such a man was R.F. Ferris [sic], who died here Friday morning at the Hereford Sanitarium.
In a humble, but useful way, Mr. Ferris [sic] had served the people of this city in various capacities and his loss will be keenly felt by his many friends.
Mr. Ferris [sic] was born May 8, 1864, in a rural community in Arkansas. From there he moved to Oklahoma, then to New Mexico and finally to this city, about twelve years ago. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. J.R. Higgins and Mrs. Leonard Davis, and two sons, Wayne and Albert, of Hereford, and W.A. Ferris [sic], of Clovis, New Mexico.
