Grady Alford, 94, of May passed away Tuesday, August 29, 2017 in Brownwood.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 2, 2017 at 2:00 PM at the Amity Cemetery in Comanche county. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 12:00 to 1:30 PM at Higginbotham Funeral Home.

Grady was born on December 25, 1922 in Holder, TX. to the late John Monroe Alford and Hattie Ann Howdyshell.

He married Ernestine McMillan on July 26, 1943 in May, TX.

Grady was longtime farmer and Rancher.

He enjoyed working as a shade tree mechanic.

He dearly loved his grandkids, great grand kids and many dogs.

Grady is survived by his daughter Latricia Southern and husband Don of Coleman, TX; grandchildren, Danny Alford and wife Shea of Midland,TX., Montie Southern and wife Sherri of San Antonio,TX., Jody Alford and wife Sheryl of Pensacola, Fl, Jeffery Southern of Tow, TX, Pamela Greer and husband Scott of Zephyr, TX; daughter in-law, Loma Alford of Brownwood, TX; 11 great grandchildren; brother, James Alford and wife June; sisters, Betty Schlemer Billie Huddleston; numerous nieces, nephews, family and dear friends.

Grady was also preceded in death by a son, Bobby Alford and 6 brothers and sisters.

Arrangements by Higginbotham Funeral Home, Cross Plains.
