HEREFORD — James "Jimmy" Foster, 59, of Hereford died Sunday, May 18, 2014.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Kyle Streun officiating. Burial will follow in West Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by
Parkside Chapel Funeral Home of Hereford.

Mr. Foster was born Oct. 19, 1954, in Friona to Leroy and Edna Marie Harris Foster. He was a commissioned peace officer from July 28, 1994, to May 23, 2002, and was a reserve deputy for Deaf Smith County.

Survivors include a son, James L. Foster Jr. of Clovis, N.M.; his father and stepmother, Leroy Foster and wife Lonidene of Hereford; his mother, Edna Jimerson of Hereford; five sisters, Cheryl Lawrence and Jamie Obremsky, both of Amarillo, Karen Boren and Kay Paetzold, both of Hereford, and Kim Hunter of Mansfield; two brothers, Kevin Foster and Paul Devin, both of Hereford; and two grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be to Don and Sybil Harrington Cancer Foundation, to benefit the patients at Baptist St. Anthony's Hospice, 1600 Wallace Blvd., Amarillo, TX 79106; or IntegraCare Hospice, 2005 S. Coulter St., Amarillo, TX 79106.
