Mrs. Isabel Martin Garrison, 88, a longtime school teacher in the Panhandle, died Thursday night in a rest home at Grand View, Mo.

Funeral services in Kansas City were held today. Arrangements are pending for services at Lubbock and burial at Hereford.

A student loan fund in Mrs. Garrison's memory is being established at Texas Technological College. Contributions may be sent to the American State Bank in Lubbock.

Mrs. Garrison came to Amarillo in 1889 with her father, Judge N.C. Martin, and her six brothers and sisters following the death of their mother.

She taught grade school in Amarillo before marrying Christopher Garrison in 1906 and moving to Hereford. After his death about 1922, she taught for a few years at Hereford and then for many years at Lubbock. In 1965 she moved to Grand View.

Mrs. Garrison was a member of the First Christian Church of Lubbock.

Survivors include two sons, Christopher Hill Garrison of Lee's Summit, Mo., and Ward F. of Overland Park, Kan., four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Mrs. Isabel M. Garrison, 87, of 13111 Spring, Grandview, died yesterday at St. Luke's hospital. She was born in Litchfield, Minn., and lived here three years. Mrs. Garrison was a teacher at Lubbock, Tex., and at Hereford, Tex., before she retired 22 years ago. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma sorority, the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Colonial Dames, the National Retired Teachers association, and the Christian church, Lubbock. Surviving are two sons, Ward S. Garrison, 4411 West Ninety-seventh, Overland Park, and C.Hill Garrison, Lee's Summit; four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Services will be held in Lubbock; burial in Hereford. Friends may call from 6 to 9 o'clock tonight at the Freeman chapel. The family suggests contributions to the Isabel M. Garrison Scholarship fund at the American State bank, Lubbock.
