Sherri Ann Gibson, 62, died Thursday, Dec. 12, 2013

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Accelerate Church with Charlie Cox, chaplain of Khiva Shrine Temple, officiating. Burial will follow at 3 p.m. in West Park Cemetery in Hereford. Arrangements are by Cox Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive.

Sherri was born June 14, 1951, in Friona to Billy and Mary Gibson. She moved to Hereford in 1968, where she graduated from Hereford High School in 1969.

She worked for Consumers Fuel in Hereford for 24 years. There she began employment as a bookkeeper and advanced to the position of assistant manager. She moved to Amarillo in 1986 and continued her employment with Consumers Fuel in Hereford, commuting back and forth to work. In 1994, she went to work at the Khiva Shrine Temple in Amarillo. She worked as a bookkeeper and office manager for Khiva for the past 20 years and worked there at the time of her death.

The shrine was more than just a job for Sherri. She shared a great love and passion for the kids that Khiva Shrine strives to take care of. She will be dearly missed by many shriners and their families. Sherri enjoyed traveling and was active at Victory Church and with the singles group there as she was able. She loved animals, especially her beloved dog, Dusty.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill Gibson and Mary Burrow Bennett.

Survivors include two brothers, Donny Gibson of Woodland Park, Colo., and Scott Burrow of Amarillo; three sisters, Dawn Ann Watson and husband Jay of Hereford, Shawna Fleming and husband Bryce of Friona and Bette Cochran and husband Rod of Amarillo; her special friends, Sharon and Larry Pennington of Hereford; and many nieces, nephews and cousins who loved her dearly.

The family suggests memorials be to Khiva Shrine Travel Fund.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral ho
