Anthony "Tony" Wade Gilliam, 57, longtime rural Deaf Smith County resident, died on Friday, January 10, 2014 at his residence.

A Graveside service is scheduled for 10:00 am, Thursday, January 16, 2014, at West Park Cemetery in Hereford TX. Rev. Larry Gilliam, cousin, will officiate. Services are under the direction of Hereford Heritage Funeral Home, 411 E 6th Street. Viewing, by request of the family will be private.

Tony was born, Anthony Wade Gilliam, on November 13, 1956 in Morton, Texas, to Jimmy Wade and Norma Jean (Newman) Gilliam.

He married the love of his life and soul mate, Linda Faye (Blackwell) Gilliam on July 16, 1987 in Hereford TX. Tony moved to Deaf Smith County in 1959 from Morton TX. Tony graduated High School in Frankfurt, Germany. He was a Christian. Tony worked for the Texas Department of Corrections as the Plant Manager at the Box Beef Plant at the time of his death. He loved hunting, had a passion for animals in general, spending time with his hunting dogs, studying and researching the anatomy of animals in general, enjoyed working with his hands, Tony was a builder of many different things, watching old western movies and traveling when he had the opportunity. Tony LOVED his wife, boys, grandchildren and his family dearly. He will be dearly missed by all.

Tony was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Heather Davis.

Survivors include his wife, Linda of the home; 2 sons, Quintin Gilliam of Ft. Worth, Steven Gilliam and wife Mary of San Antonio; 2 brothers, Travis Gilliam and wife Carroll of Hereford, Monty Gilliam of Salina, KS; one sister, Shelly Fellers and husband Will of Bennington, KS and three grandchildren; Triston Conrad Gilliam, Zandyn Shayne Gilliam and Zoey Shay Gilliam.

The family suggests memorials to a charity of choice.
