Rosary for for James H. Seideman, 76, of Abilene will be said at 7 p.m. today in Englunds Chapel in Slaton with Darris Linder officiating.

Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Slaton with the Rev. Malcolm Neyland officiating.

Burial will be in Englewood Cemetery under direction of Englunds Funeral Home.

He died Saturday, May 20, 2000, at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene.

He was born May 27, 1923, in Slaton. He attended St. Joseph Catholic School, Price College in Amarillo and graduated from Slaton High School in 1942. He enlisted in the Naval Air Corps and U.S. Coast Guard before joining the Merchant Marines during World War II. He married Opal Oletia Brasuell on May 30, 1947. She died Aug. 4, 1981.

He was in the automobile parts sales business in Lubbock in 1950 and in Albuquerque before moving to Post in 1953. He resided in Amarillo from 1954 to 1962, then moved back to Lubbock. He married Johncie Sue McCrary on May 27, 1983, in Abilene. He had lived in Abilene since then. He retired in 1988. He was a 55-year member of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 3008 of Lubbock and a member of the Bishop Lawrence Fitzsimmons Fourth Degree Assembly, the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Abilene.
