Severo Eloy Gonzales
June 27, 1942 - February 8, 2015

Mass of Christian Burial for Severo Gonzales, 72, a life-long Hereford resident, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, February, 12, 2015 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church with the Monsignor Joseph Bixenman, pastor of La Iglesia de San Jose, as celebrant. Interment will be in West Park Cemetery under the direction of Parkside Chapel Funeral Home. A Prayer Vigil will be held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. Mr. Gonzales passed away Sunday, February 08, 2015, in Amarillo.

Severo Eloy Gonzales, Sr. was born June, 27, 1942 in LaGarita, New Mexico to Ramon and Adelaida Quintana Gonzales. Shortly after his birth the family moved to Hereford. He attended Hereford Schools. He met and fell in love with Irene Castillo. They were married July 6, 1963 in Hereford. Severo was a partner in Gonzales Brothers Plumbing, Inc. for over 30 years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus for over 30 years. He served as Grand Knight 3 times. He was also the City of Hereford Plumbing Inspector for several years.

Mourning his passing are his wife of over 51 years, Irene Gonzales of Hereford, 2 sons, Severo Gonzales, Jr and wife Bernice of Hereford, and Albert Gonzales of Amarillo, 1 daughter, Yvette Justice and husband Darrell of Amarillo. 9 grandchildren, Eric Gonzales and fiancé Ashley Stokes, Savannah Barrientez and husband Julian, Joshua Gonzales and fiancé Clarissa, Brian Gonzales, Timothy Gonzales, Kristen Gonzales, Rolandria Emenuga and husband Emeka, Darrell Justice and wife Ilana and Demetrius Justice and wife Myriah, great-grandchildren, Journi Gonzales, Julian Barrientez, Jordan Barrientrez, Mylo Justice, Zariah Justice and Brandon Emenuga.
