*Obituary Austin Whitacre
He loved Plants and was responsible for Gregg Park across the street from the family home on Twenty-Five Mile Avenue which he maintained for years. He asked permission of the town to improve the triangular plot and spent much of his time grooming evergreens and grass there. He loved the outdoors and was a hunter and fisherman until he was past 90.

He was the first to plant evergreens in West Park Cemetery.
