Funeral Services for Emma L. Guevara, 89, a long-time Hereford resident will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 9, 2014 at Genesis Church with Pastor Sam Rando officiating. Interment will follow in West Park Cemetery, under the direction of Parkside Chapel Funeral Home.
Emma Lopez was born July 5, 1925 in Ballenger, Tx to Melchor and Paulita Valdez Lopez. She met and fell in love with Jose Guevara and they married on Jan. 18, 1953 in Ballenger. She worked for Furr's Supermarket in Hereford for 30 years and then worked for H & R Manufacturing for several years.
Surviving are a brother, Raul Lopez of Hereford, a sister Hope Trevino of San Diego, Ca., 3 nieces, Elsa Vallejo and Nancy Pacheco both of Amarillo, and Cynthia of Carlsbad, Ca., 2 nephews, Rudy Jaques of San Antonio and Adrian Coca of Boulder, Co.
Mrs. Guevara was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
