Homer E. Henslee, 97, died on June 5, 2014 at Charlton Methodist Medical Center in Dallas, Texas.

He was born on December 22, 1916, in Elk City, Oklahoma to Homer E. Henslee, Sr. and Susan B. Anthony Worth. Homer grew up in Hereford, Texas and attended grade school and high school there. He graduated from Texas Technological University (Texas Tech) in 1938 with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering. He was a member of Tau Beta Pi honorary society. He worked for engineering construction firms in Tulsa, Oklahoma, New York, New Jersey, Texas, London, Canada, India, and Holland until retirement in 1981, when he moved to Amarillo, Texas.

Homer married Fay Christine Fincher in Lubbock, Texas in 1938. They were married until her death in 1992. They had two children.

He was married to Inez Houghton Glenn from 1994 until her death in March 2014.

Homer was a member of First Christian Church of Amarillo. He enjoyed golf, shooting his age even when he was in his 80's. He also enjoyed photography and was a member for a while with the Amarillo Photographic Society.

Homer is survived by one son, Kenneth Charles Henslee of Green Valley, AZ and his wife Bara and one daughter, Judith Gwen Hollingsworth of Duncanville, TX and her husband Kenneth; a sister, Mary Mager of Amarillo, TX; seven grandchildren: Matthew Henslee of Kuna, Idaho, Mark Henslee of Fountain, Colorado, Kendra Henslee Holley, of Rogers, Arkansas, Charles Henslee, of Pueblo West, CO, Nathan Hollingsworth of Randleman, NC, Anne Hollingsworth Fondren of McGregor, TX, Carrie Hollingsworth of McGregor, TX; 15 great-grandchildren and his nieces and nephews and other relatives.

Appreciation is extended to the staff of Ware Living Center of Amarillo, who were so caring during Homer's last years. A memorial service will be held at Jaynes Memorial Chapel in Duncanville, Texas, at 11:00 AM, Wednesday June 11. Burial will be at West Park Cemetery in Hereford, Texas, on Saturday, June 14 at 10:00 AM.
