HEREFORD - Mildred Stewart Hicks, 92, died Wednesday, June 22, 2011.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in West Park Cemetery. Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. in the Lamar Room at King's Manor Methodist Home. Arrangements are by Hereford Heritage Funeral Home.

Mildred was born Nov. 30, 1918, in Deaf Smith County to William and Carrie Taylor Stewart. She married R.D. Hicks on Aug. 27, 1939, in Clovis, N.M., and he preceded her in death on Oct. 20, 2001.

Mildred was a homemaker and a lifelong member of Hereford First United Methodist Church. She was very instrumental in the establishment of the Cowgirl Hall of Fame and a strong supporter/advocate of the Deaf Smith County Museum.

Mildred had a strong devotion to Cal Farley's Boy Ranch. She had a strong love for her Lord, family, the land, cattle, ranching heritage and the history of Deaf smith County and Hereford. Mildred liked gardening, cooking, baking, sewing but, most of all caring for her family.

Survivors include a son, Mark Hicks and wife Susan of Hereford; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

The family suggest memorials to King's Manor Methodist Home, 400 Ranger Drive, Hereford, TX 79045.
