SHERMAN - Aldene "Jiggs" Hudson, 90, formerly of Hereford, died Saturday, Sept. 25, 2004.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday in Woods Street Church of Christ with Bill Mayes officiating. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in West Park Cemetery in Hereford with Tom Hargusess officiating. Arrangements are by Parkside Chapel Funeral Home of Hereford.

Mr. Hudson was born Oct. 24, 1913, in Rochester to Charles Gibson Hudson and Mattie Eula Pate Hudson. Aldene married Edith Irene Linehan on April 18, 1941, in Graham. He was a devoted and loving husband and father, a man who loved to be around his family, children and animals. He was a lifelong educator and coach in several Texas communities, including Gatesville, Penelope, Hereford, Jacksboro, Haskell, Seminole, Lubbock and Lewisville, as well as in Fairbanks, Alaska, where he introduced high school football to the state. His tender heart and generosity were felt by everyone who knew him; he was from the "old school" and was part of the "greatest generation."

He was preceded in death by his loving wife in 1972; four brothers, Joe Hunter, White Henry, Isaac Gibson and Cecil Paul; and four sisters, Sallie, Fannie, Hattie Eula and Eva Unger.

Survivors include a brother, William L. Hudson and wife Tomi; two sons, Aldene Hudson Jr. and wife, Donna, and WaaDee Hudson; a daughter, Martha Lea Lytal and husband, Joel; eight grandchildren, Mark Lytal and wife, Pam, Danene Hudson, Manda Gowdy and husband, Jimmy, Andrew Hudson and wife, Linda, DeeAnn Bullard and husband, Jeffrey, Jennifer Findling and husband, Jamey, Jo D'Lyn Osborn and husband, Matt, and Jason Lytal and wife, Lauren; 14 great-grandchildren, Carter, Caysan and Cally Lytal, Tate and Tanner Gowdy, Parker, Bradley and Hank Hudson, Jessie and Jacob Bullard, Sawyer and Sterling Osborn, Jolee and Halle Lytal; and two more great-grandchildren who are expected this year.

Viewing and visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the church. Viewing will be Tuesday at Parkside Chapel Funeral Home in Hereford.

HEREFORD - Mrs. Edith Hudson, 52, formerly of Hereford, died yesterday in Hillsboro.

Services will be at 4 p.m. tomorrow at West Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Gililland-Watson Funeral Home.

Survivors include her widower, Jiggs of Penelope; two sons, Dean of Lubbock and Waadee of Broken Arrow, Okla., and one daughter, Mrs. Martha Lee Lytle of Hereford.
