Joint funeral services for Mr. and Mrs. Jack Hutson, wreck victims, will be conducted this afternoon at 3 o'clock in the First Baptist Church of Hereford with Rev. W. E. Barnes officiating. Burial will be in the Hereford Cemetery.
Mr. Hutson, 75-year-old farmer of the Ward community 14 miles northwest of Hereford, died in an Amarillo hospital yesterday of wounds suffered when the car he was driving collided with an oil truck five miles north of Hereford Wednesday afternoon. Mrs. Hutson was killed instantly.
Neither Elmer Mathies of Hereford, driver of the truck, nor his companion, Arthur Rogers, also of Hereford, was injured.
Mr. and Mrs. Hutson had resided in Deaf Smith County for the last 15 years, and had lived at Goodnight in Armstrong County for 10 years prior to that. Their old home was at Garland in Dallas County. They had been married 53 years.
Survivors are three sons, John Hutson of Borger, Sam Hutson of Littlefield, and Bill Hutson of Hereford; and five daughters, Mrs. Charley Hoover of Hereford, Mrs. D.O. Williams of Abernathy, Miss Lucille Hutson of Shreveport, Mrs. Charles Wharton of Denver, and Mrs. Howard Ledbetter of Vega.
