*Obituary Carl W. Johnson, Sr.
Carl William Johnson Sr., 85, of Amarillo died Monday, April 5, 2010.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Direcotors Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd., with Buryl Fish, officiating. Burial will be at 4 p.m. Thursday in West Park Cemetery in Hereford.

Mr. Johnson was born in Samnorwood to W.A. and Hettie Jane Johnson. He had lived in the Panhandle all of his life and in Amarillo since 1966. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was in charge of repairs and maintenance at the VA Hospital, where he ordered and inventoried all the medical supplies. His lifelong interests were God, family, music and bowling.

He was preceded in death by nine siblings.

Survivors include his wife, Wanda; two daughters, Ceclia Barnett and Jane Johnson, both of Amarillo; a son, Carl W. Johnson Jr. and wife Sheree of Austin; three grandsons, Bill Barnett of Amarillo, Sgt. Glen Barnett and wife Jessica of Quantico, Va., and Bret Johnson and wife Jennifer of Austin; a granddaughter, Kay Lynn Saito and husband Capt. Henry of San Diego; and four great-great-grandsons, Nicholas Johnson and Ryan Johnson, both of Austin, and Jacob Barnett and Joey Barnett, both of Quantico.

Wanda M. Johnson, 87, of Amarillo, died Thursday, July 12, 2017. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, July 17, 2017 at Westpark Cemetery in Hereford. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Wanda was born on November 22, 1929 in Pampa to James and Sophrona Fish. She graduated from Hereford High School and earned her bachelor’s and master’s degree from West Texas State. She taught 5th grade at Wolflin Elementary for many years. Her greatest passions in life were God, family, teaching, and reading. She was a member of First Christian Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Sr. and two brothers.

She is survived by two daughters, Cecelia and Jane; and one son, Carl Jr. and wife Sheree; four grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
