Obituary:
HEREFORD - Larry MESSNER, 58, died Friday, June 27, 2003, in Amarillo.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Hereford Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. Ted Taylor officiating. Burial will be at 4 p.m. Monday in Fairmont Cemetery in Follett with Ron Hilbig officiating. Miliatry graveside rites will be provided by Darrouzett American Legion Post #635. Arrangements are by Parkside Chapel Funeral Home.

Mr. MESSNER was born Jan. 7, 1945, in Perryton, the son of Dyette and Ethlyn MESSNER. He married Leanna GUSTIN on April 15, 1967, in Follett. They had lived in Hereford since 1995 where he was employed as an Engineering Technician with Xcel Energy.

Mr. MESSNER was a veteran, having served honorably in the Army during the Vietnam conflict. He was a member of Booker Masonic Lodge #1223, a 21-year member of Darrouzett American Legion Post #635, a past member of the Booker Volunteer Fire Dept, a certified EMT for the Booker Ambulance Service and a member of Hereford Church of the Nazarene.

He was preceded in death by twin infant sons and a sister.

Survivors include his wife; his mother of Follett; a son, Darren MESSNER and wife, Lisa, of Amarillo; a daughter, Shannon ANDREAS and husband, Michael, of Plainview; a brother, Victor MESSNER of Follett; and 4 grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be to American Cancer Society, District 15, 3915 Bell St., Amarillo, TX 79109; or the Nazarene Christian Academy, 1410 La Plata Dr., Hereford, TX 79045.
