Obituary:
Guymon, Oklahoma – Ronald Methvin, 58, passed away Monday, December 2, 2013 at Memorial Hospital of Texas County.
The son of Juanita (Mears) and M.D. Methvin, Ronald Otis Methvin was born September 14, 1955 in Joplin, Missouri. Ron graduated from Follett High School with the Class of 1974. He went to a saddle making school in South Dakota and enjoyed riding bulls in his younger years. Ron was united in marriage to Judy Terrel on May 24, 1975 in Follett. He had worked for UPS and enjoyed making saddles, working with leather, hunting and playing practical jokes.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Methvin of Guymon; father, M.D. (Doc) Methvin of Follett; two sons and their wives, Luke Methvin and Jennifer of Adams, OK; and Levi Methvin and Vanessa of Richmond, MI; brother, Barry Methvin and Kathy of Rockdale, TX; mother-in-law, Harriet Terrel of Amarillo, TX; and sister-in-law, Marlese Methvin of Goodwell, OK and many nieces and nephews. Ron was the adoring Papa-O to his seven grandchildren, Ryan, Emili, Ava, Julia and Nora Methvin, Hunter and Lakin Huckins; and his one great granddaughter, Lyric Huckins.
He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Lawrence (Shorty) Terrel (1992); brother, Duane Methvin (2001); and his mother, Juanita Methvin (2013).
The Methvin family will receive friends on Thursday evening, 5-7:00 PM at the Henson-Novak Funeral Home, 501 NW Fifth, Guymon.
Funeral services will be Friday morning, December 6th, 10:00 A.M. at the Follett Chapel with Ron's brother, Rev. Barry Methvin, officiating. Interment will follow in the Fairmont Cemetery, Follett.
