Mildred Lee "Peggy" Rambo Lamb, 98, of Amarillo died Tuesday, April 13, 2004.

Memorial services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd., with Dr. James E. Garrett, senior minister of Polk Street Methodist Church, officiating. Private burial was in West Park Cemetery in Hereford.

Mrs. Lamb was born Dec. 11, 1905, in Hereford, a member of the Higgins family, who was one of the first two families in Deaf Smith County. The family moved to a dugout south of Hereford in 1890.

In 1926, she married Arthur J. Lamb. She was office manager for Drs. Patton and Carroll for approximately 40 years. She was a member of ABWA, Pilot Club and the Vaughn Selby Sunday school class at Polk Street United Methodist Church.

Her son, Arthur, wishes to express thanks for the excellent care given to Peggy in the Amarillo Nursing Center and BSA Hospice.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1937.

Survivors include a son, Arthur J. Lamb Jr. of Amarillo; four grandchildren, Teri Cochran of Austin, Kim Young of Plano, Arthur Jefferson "Jeff" Lamb III of Coppell and Slater Lamb of Amarillo; five great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.

The family suggests memorials be to Polk Street United Methodist Church Television Ministry, 1401 S. Polk St., Amarillo, TX 79101.
