E.L. "Pat" Lawhon, 77, of 601 E. Third, died at 12:24 a.m. today in Deaf Smith General Hospital.
Services for the longtime resident will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Rose Chapel of Gililland-Watson Funeral Home. The Rev. Mack McCarter, pastor of First Christian Church, will officiate.
Interment will be in West Park Cemetery.
Mr. Lawhon was born Sept. 26, 1902 in San Angelo. He came to Hereford in 1910 from his hometown and married Nora Beams March 30, 1924 at Hereford.
He was a retired farmer and rancher and a member of First Christian Church.
In addition to the widow, survivors include a son, Jimmie Lawhon of San Antonio; a daughter, Mattie Lawhon Hitchings of Hereford; a brother, John Hubbard of Tulsa, Okla.; two sisters, Dora Owens of Oklahoma City, Okla.; and Lois Crane of Burkburnett; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
