Samuel Henry Lindley, age 74, of Hereford (Frio) died February 6, 1996 in the Veterans Hospital, Amarillo.

Mr. Lindley was born August 20, 1921 in Wellington. He graduated from Wellington High School and married Vara Simpson in Amarillo in 1946. She preceded him in death in 1970.

He later married Viola Sebastian in Dimmitt in 1972. He was a farmer and woodworker, also owned a fishing dock in Brownwood and a restaurant in Friona. He was in the Coast Guard during World War II serving the USCGC Laurel above the Artic Circle.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Wellington. He was a resident of Hereford most of his life.

Survivors include his wife, Viola Lindley of Hereford (Frio), two sons: Wesley Lindley of Pilot Point and Lloyd Lindley of Hereford; 2 stepsons: Jack and Eddie Sebastian, both of Lubbock; 1 stepdaughter, Susie Bainum of Summerfield; one sister, Christine Zorns of Friona; 4 grandchildren; 6 step-grandchildren and one great-grandson.
