Arthur Manjeot services held

Funeral services for Arthur Lloyd Manjeot, 74, of 303 Westhaven, resident of Hereford since 1930, were conducted Saturday morning in First Baptist Church, of which he was a member.

Dr. Gerald Mann, pastor, was assisted by Dr. A. Hope Owen of Lubbock, retired Baptist pastor, in conducting the service. Burial was in West Park Cemetery, directed by Gililland Funeral Home.

Mr. Manjeot, a grain elevator manger for many years, died in a local hospital early Thursday after a long illness. His family has asked that memorial contributions be made to Boys Ranch.

A native of Kansas, he was born Feb. 5, 1897 at Spivey, and came to Texas in 1930, living in Floydada a short time before moving to Hereford.

He married Gladys Howton here June 12, 1921, and except for a few years when they lived in New Mexico, Hereford has been their home since.

Mr. Manjeot was a veteran of military service in World War I, a Scottish Rite Mason and a member of the Order of Eastern Star, a former member of the Rotary Club. He was active as a Boy Scout leader when he lived in Portales, N.M.

Surviving him are his wife; a son, Lt. Col. Lloyd Howton Manjeot of Alexandria, Va.; a sister, Mrs. Emma Simpson of Wichita, Kan.; four brothers, Alfred and Frank Manjeot of Spivey, Bob Manjeot of Maysville, Calif., and Roy Manjeot of Ulrich, Mo.; and two grandchildren.
