The death of any person in a community is always sad news to some one, but the demise of a young man just as he arrives at his majority, is a regretful event and one received with sorrow by everybody. Cut off in the beginning of life is a ead [sic] record to make. Such is the case in the death of youg Edgar Maples. Well known and well liked by his many boy friends, and theo fighting for his last hold on life, his spirit left his pain racked body, and is now resting in the spirit land. The first news to many in the city was the publication of the following notice:
DIED - On Friday, January 29th, at 11 o'clock a.m., Edgar S. Maples, son of Mr. and Mrs. T.S. Maples. Born October 20th, 1886, Age 22 years, 3 months and 9 days.
Funeral services were conducted from the family residence Saturday morning at 10 o'clock by Rev. W.M. Baker.

Only those who have passed through this trying ordeal can realize the comfort and help you have been to us. Especially do we thank Bro. Baker, one of God's nobleman, for the blessed comfort he has given us and for his kindness and thoughtfulness to him who has left. us.
