Services for Arthur V. Stolle, 90, of Slaton will be at 2 p.m. today at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church with the Rev. Heidi Happel officiating.
Burial will be in Englewood Cemetery under the direction of Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton.
He died Sunday, July 15, 2001.
He was born April 13, 1911, in Westphalia. He had moved to the Slaton area in 1921 and attended schools in Pleasant Valley and Hackberry. He farmed in the Hackberry community until his retirement in 1980.
He married Gertrude P. Siewert on Feb. 14, 1947, in Clovis, N.M. She died Feb. 21, 1997. He was a member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II from 1942 to 1945 and received the Purple Heart and the EAME Campaign Medal with five Bronze Stars. He was a life member of the Slaton Veterans of Foreign Wars No. 2721 and Slaton American Legion Luther Power's Post No. 438.
Survivors include two brothers, Edmund of Lubbock and Roy of Shallowater; and three sisters, Pearl and Ella Mae Stolle, both of Lubbock, and Hilda Nesmith of Lubbock.
