Death of Mrs. Norvell
Friends who for weeks have been hoping for an improvement in the condition of Mrs. W.D. Norvell, were grieved Thursday to learn that this brave and patient sufferer had passed away.
Mrs. Norvell has been an invalid for more than a year, the family moving here from Memphis in the hope of benefitting [sic] her health. After coming here she became some better and for a time was able to be up and about the house. For several weeks, however, she has been confined to her bed, apparently growing worse, so that her friends were apprehensive that the end was near. During her illness she has been at the home of her father, Mr. J.D. Curtsinger, where her death occurred.
Mrs. Norvell, who was formerly Miss Emma Curtsinger, was raised in Hereford and spent the greater part of her life here. She moved with her father's family to Memphis several years ago and while living there was married to Mr. W.D. Norvell, who, with his six-months' old baby daughter, survive here. She was a member of the Baptist Church and a practical every-day Christian. A distinctly home-loving woman, her family and close friends appreciated her true worth best.
Funeral services were conducted on Friday at the First Baptist church, Rev. J.E. McClurkin officiating, and interment was made in the city cemetery.
The little babe left so early without a mother's care, the sorrowing husband and other relatives have the sympathy of all.
