Funeral services for Ethel Tate Ball, 97, of Slaton, will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 20, 2003, at the First Baptist Church in Slaton with Dr. Cleve Kerby officiating. Burial will follow in Englewood Cemetery under the direction of Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton.
Mrs. Ball passed from this life Tuesday, Nov.18, 2003 surrounded by her family. She was born Dec. 10, 1905 in Somerville, Texas. She previously lived in Sweetwater where she was a Harvey Girl before becoming a resident of Slaton in 1926.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Jolene and John Fondy of Slaton; a brother, Lee Roy Reeves of Burleson, Texas; a sister, Juanita Smith of Placerville, Calif.; a granddaughter, Judy Thomas; a granddaughter-in-law, Donna Fondy, both of Slaton; three great-grandchildren, J.T. Fondy of San Angelo, Texas, Michael and wife, Tonya LaVere of Southland, Texas and Heather and husband, Scott Cathey of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and five great-great grandchildren.
