C. B., Carroll Brooks Hawkins, 91, of Mart, went to be with his Lord and Savior Oct. 30, 2005. Funeral services will be at First Baptist Church of Mart. Burial will follow at Lone Oak Cemetery. with arrangements by Littlepage Funeral Home.
Carroll was born June 22, 1914 in Watt, Texas, to Joseph and Hattie Hawkins.
He married Polly Christian March 9, 1935, and they celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary this year.
'He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend to all that knew him.
C.B. was a self-made business man. He started Hawkins 'Grain Co. in 1936 with, one truck and it prospered into a well-established grain company in McLennan County.
Then he ventured into the boat business and started H&S Marine Boats in 1967. Heading toward his retirement years he pursued his passion for old farm equipment and cars. The wrecking yard was his place to visit with old friends and new until his later years in life. '
Survivors include his wife, Polly Hawkins; daughter, Carrolyn
Breitkreutz of Dallas; sons, Me! Hawkins of Waco, Chris Hawkins
and wife, Jackie, of Crawford and Terry Hawkins-Birkes of
Robinson; grandchildren, Dennis Breitkreutz and wife, Angela,
Patty McCintyre and husband, James, Jason Breitkreutz and wife,
Denise, Sheryl Christian, Andy Hawkins and wife, Jackie, Mike
Hawkins and wife, Patty, Gary Fisher, Leigh Ann Villines and
husband, Jason, Christi Hawkins-Blackburn and husband, Ronnie,
Jackie Hawkins-Jobe and husband, Leslie, Samantha Hawkins,
Jacob Dill; 16 great-grandchildren and a number of nephews and
nieces .
Memorials may be made to First BaptistChurch of Mart.
