Son of Pliny Gwin and Flosela Logan Stokes
Harry Gwin Stokes was born on November 6, 1899 to Phiny Given 'P G' Stokes and Flossie "Flosela" Logan in Texas. He had at least two siblings; Govan(1893) and Frances(1896).

In 1910 and 1920 they were living in Big Spring, Howard Co, Texas.

Harry moved to Slaton, Lubbock Co, Texas to open an automobile agency, a Ford dealership. He met Aileen McDonald and they got married in 1922. They had two children, Elizabeth(1922) and Gerald(abt 1928 or 1929).

Harry ran the Ford Dealership for forty-one years. He was a member of the First Methodist Church there in Slaton.

Harry died on March 25,1973. On March 26,1973, he was laid to rest in Englewood Cemetery, Slaton, Lubbock Co. Texas. He was loved by all who knew him.

Aileen McDonald was born Feb 10,1902 to Mr & Mrs J. W. McDonald. They moved from Merkel, Texas to Slaton, Lubbock Co., Texas in the spring of 1917. Her father built the first new modern cotton gin there.

Times were hard then, as there were no paved streets, no electric lights, no city water or natural gas. They cooked on coal stoves and heated their home this way also. The population of Slaton was 1300. There was a two-story school and two churches; a Baptist and a Methodist.

It was in the Methodist Church that Aileen married Harry Gwin Stokes, the son of P.G. Stokes and Flossie Logan, in 1922.Harry had moved to Slaton to open up an automobile agency, a Ford dealership. He ran the Ford place for forty-one years.

They had two children, Elizabeth in 1922 and Gerald in abt 1928 or 1929.

Harry died in 1973. Aileen died on Apr 3, 1989. She was laid to rest next to Harry in Englewood West Cemetery. She was loved by everyone who knew her.
