Husband of Leabeth Drewry Thompson
Services for Harmon "Toad" Thompson, 82, of Slaton will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Englunds Chapel with Bert Jarvis, pastor of First United Methodist Church, officiating.
Burial will be in Englewood Cemetery under direction of Englunds Funeral Service.
He died Sunday, Feb. 8, 1998, at his home.
He was born June 3, 1915, in Mineral Wells and moved to Slaton in 1915. He attended Slaton schools and went to work for the Santa Fe Railroad in 1936 as a brakeman. He retired Dec. 8, 1979.
He married Lea Beth Drewry in Slaton on July 14, 1940. He owned Thompson Furniture Store.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church, the UTU and Masonic Lodge No. 1094.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Jane Williamson of Lubbock; a sister, Viola Flora Bell of Portland, Ore.; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Parents - Robert Lee Thompson & Viola Pearl Perryman
