HEREFORD - Floyd Rickman, 81, died Saturday, Sept. 30, 2006.

Celebration of life services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Avenue Baptist Church with the Rev. Jim Bulin, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in West Park Cemetery by Hereford Heritage Funeral Home.

Mr. Rickman, longtime Hereford resident, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at his residence on Saturday, Sept. 30, 2006.

Mr. Rickman was born Nov. 24, 1924, in Farmersville to Floyd and Ida Wood Rickman. He married his wife and sweetheart Maxine Trammell Rickman of 62 years on Oct. 31, 1943. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Floyd moved his family to Hereford in 1948 from Farmersville. Mr. Rickman worked in construction for a while; however, his passion was cattle. He was a cattle processor. Floyd was a longtime member of Avenue Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and three sons, Dennis Rickman in 1982, Richard Rickman in 1998 and Dwight Rickman in 2005.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Carol Lovan of Durant, Okla., and Donna Rickman of Hereford; a brother, LeRoy Rickman of Hereford; three sisters, Inez Houston, Imogene Sweeney and Winnie Tyler, all of Hereford; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be to Avenue Baptist Church, 130 N. 25 Mile Ave., Hereford, TX 79045.
