Rosary service for James Vivial, 66, of Lubbock will be 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16, 2006, in Englunds Chapel. Resurrection Mass will be 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 17, 2006 in Christ the King Cathedral. Burial will be in Englewood Cemetery, under the direction of Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton.
James passed from this life surrounded by his family Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2006. He was born March 4, 1939 near Posey in Lubbock County. He graduated from Slaton High School in 1957. He served in the U.S. Army. After his discharge, James moved to Lubbock in 1960. He was owner operator of Lubbock Barber College from 1978 until retiring in March 2004. He was a member of Christ the King and the Knights of Columbus.
James was preceded in death by a son, Gus on Sept. 12, 1999, a daughter, Kristie Russell on Aug. 25, 2005 and a brother, Bob Vivial in 1971.
James is survived by his son, Phillip Vivial of Lubbock, daughters; Monica Maeker of New Home and Karla Vivial of ubbock; 8 grandchildren; and close friend Kathy Bachman.
