Mass of Christian Burial for Benino C. Rios, 87, will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 12, 2016 at Iglesia de San Jose with the Reverend Jose Ramon Molina, pastor as celebrant. Interment will follow in West Park Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Parkside Chapel Funeral Home. A Prayer Vigil will be at Parkside Chapel at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. Mr. Rios passed away Sunday, April 9, 2016 in Amarillo.

Benino C. Rios was born February 13, 1930 in Staples, Texas to Bernardo and Tomasa Cantu Rios. He met and fell in love with Maria Teresa Escamilla, and they were wed on February 19, 1950 in San Antonio. He later moved to Hereford in 1964 from Sudan. He worked in agriculture in Hereford for many years and for Garrison Seed retiring in 2001. Benino was an active member of La Iglesia de San Jose serving as a Eucharistic Minister for many years.

Surviving are six daughter, Janie Rios, Manuela DeLaRosa and husband Elezar, Suelema Klumpe, Maria Rodriguez and husband Roy, Elma Martinez and husband Alex, and Maggie Garcia all of Amarillo; four sons, Benino Rios, Jr of Dallas, Ruben Rios and Robert Rios both of Dodge City, KS., and Ralph Rios and wife Sammy of Arlington; three sisters, Lupe Vela of Indianapolis, IN., Josie Rivera and Sheena Christan and husband Luis both of Littlefield; 27 grandchildren, 65 great-grandchildren and 7 great great-grandchildren.

HEREFORD — Maria T. Rios, 76, died Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2011, at her residence.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today in West Park Cemetery with the Rev. David Alvarado, pastor of Good News Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Parkside Chapel Funeral Home.

Mrs. Rios was born Nov. 30, 1934, in San Antonio to Seferino and Maria Cerna Escamilla. She married Benino C. Rios Feb. 19, 1950, in San Antonio.

Survivors include her husband; seven daughters, Janie Rios, Sue Clumpe, Elma Martinez, Maggie Garcia, all of Amarillo, Manuela Rios DeLaRosa of Littlefield, Olga Michelle Smale of Arlington and Maria Rodriguez of Hereford; four sons, Benino Rios Jr. and Robert Rios, both of Hereford, Ruben Rios of Dodge City, Kan., and Ralph Rios of Alvarado; a sister, Sarah Barrera of San Antonio; 31 grandchildren; 65 great-grandchildren; and a great-great granddaughter.

The family suggests memorials be to the Rios Family, in care of Ruben Rios, 601 N. Main St., Hereford, TX 79045
